I started this blog a few years ago, to share pictures of the places I visit with my Black Dog – it’s gradually becoming a full blown dog friendly guide to Cornwall, though is still very much a work in progress.

Far from being a comprehensive directory, we list recommendations on beaches, gardens, places to eat and drink and great dog walks – all of which are in Cornwall and dog friendly, unless otherwise stated. And generally they’ve all been tried and tested by myself and the Black Dog.

Because we live on the north coast in mid Cornwall, the site is a ‘little’ bit biased to that area, but we’re always on the lookout for tips and recommendations so please do get in touch.

If you’re interested in advertising on the site drop us a line, we’d love to hear your proposal.

I’m a web editor with over ten years of digital experience. I love getting out and about in the great Cornish countryside and the Black Dog is my incentive.

The Black Dog is a 13 year old Lab/Greyhound cross and we’ve had him for about seven years. He’s 95% Lab and displays all the appropriate behaviour traits i.e. obsession with food, obsession with balls, obsession with water, obsession with soft furnishings. But he does have a few physical attributes akin to the Greyhound, such as lovely long legs, a weaselbeak (a term conjured up by Heather, a Greyhound-owner friend of mine) and a bit of a nipped in waist.

When asked ‘what is he?’, I like to refer to him as a Labrahound and people seem very impressed, ha ha ha!

  5. Hi
Can you recommend any beaches that are good for us humans to go swimming with their dogs please or rock pools.
Have just found you page and am enjoying it.

    • Hi Deborah

The black dog loved to have a paddle. For us Polly Joke was probably the best, especially at high tide when the cliffs and narrow bay create almost a natural, sea water pool which is surprisingly calm, warm and shallow. Enjoy! X
